New "Photography for Charity" Program Will Address Hunger in America

MONTROSE, Ca (Nov. 13, 2018) — To address the growing issue of hunger in America, landscape photographer Tarik Trad today announced the launch of Focus Relief – Photography for Charity.
“Photography has the power to make an impact in so many different ways,” said Trad, founder and president of the initiative. “It is my goal to use that power to give back to the community and improve the lives of those less fortunate. I believe this is needed now more than ever.”

Despite a healthy economy and an unemployment rate at a near-record low, hunger is a real problem. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) report Household Food Security in the United States in 2017 classifies 41 million in the U.S. – larger than the populations of California and Mississippi combined – as “food insecure.”
“I’m humbled to be able to apply my photography skills to help those in need,” said Trad. “It is clear we have a challenge right here in this country. If our bellies are full but our neighbors go hungry, there is work to be done.”
As an example, Focus Relief plans to support community programs that help fight childhood hunger through innovative initiatives, such as healthy meals and nutrition education for kids in after-school meal programs.
